How To Create A Venue Page

You need to be a member of the site to create your own venue pages - become a member by contacting the site administrator at moc.liamg|99oiduaevil#moc.liamg|99oiduaevil

1. Create a new venue page
Sign in to the site, open the contents page with the list of venues for the appropriate country. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on 'edit'. Add a new page link using the following syntax venue city, venue name in alphabetical order within the existing list. A page link uses three [ square brackets ] on either side. Click on 'save' to close the edit screen. You then click on the newly formed link and you will be asked if you want to 'create page' which you also click on. Now you have created a new venue page that is linked through the contents list.

2. Add text content
Click on 'edit' at the bottom of the new venue page, then it is easy to insert text or to change the title.
Give a quick definition of the venue such as 'large arena in so-and-so city in so-and-so country'.
Add a link to the venue website which can be copied and pasted and will then be automatically generated.
General venue information and venue measurements can be posted by downloading the forms from the Templates page, filling out the forms, then adding them to your page. You can also post your own venue information pages or simply type the venue information into the editor.

3. Add 'image' files - jpeg, pdf, png
These are files such as photos or pdf's that will be displayed in full on the site (rather than as a downloadable link).

Follow these steps:
1 - Click on 'files' at the bottom of the page (the text editor needs to be closed to do this)
2 - Click on 'upload a file from your computer'
3 - Click on 'select files' then choose the file that you want to upload - this step can be repeated
4 - Click on 'upload files'
5 - Click on 'refresh file list'
6 - The file name must have no spaces in it to work properly. To rename a file, find it in the list, then click on 'options' then 'rename' then type in a new name with no spaces or copy/paste and delete the spaces, then click 'rename'
7 - Click on 'edit' to enter the text editor
8 - Move the cursor to the location to insert the file, then click on the 'insert image wizard' which is a square button above the text editor box that looks like green mountains with a star
9 - Select 'attached file' as the source type, the file should appear in a box, then click on the file name. You can then select 'original' size and 'centre' position on the page, then click on 'insert code'
10 - Click on 'save' to finish the process. The file should now be displayed on the venue page

4. Add other file types
These are files that will be displayed as a downloadable link. File types such as Excel and DWG work without needing to be zipped, but most other file types such as sound design files need to be in a ZIP format.

7 - Find the file name in the list and click on 'info'
8 - Copy the 'full file URL' which begins with http, then click 'close'
9 - Click on 'edit' to enter the text editor
10 - Move the cursor to the location to insert the file, then click on the 'URL link wizard' which is a square button above the text editor box that looks like chain links with a star
11 - Paste the URL into the box, then add 'anchor text' which is what is displayed on the venue page, then click on 'insert code'
12 - Click on 'save' to finish the process. The file link should now be displayed on the venue page and should be tested.
